College of Veterinary Medicine Holds a Scientific Seminar on the Extraction of Lipopolysaccharides from Bacteria

 The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tikrit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, held a specialized scientific seminar on the extraction of lipopolysaccharides (LPS) from Salmonella or Escherichia coli bacteria. The seminar was organized as part of the College’s scientific activities aimed at supporting scientific research and developing laboratory skills.

The seminar was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Sultan and Engineer Thamer Jidoua Shihab. It focused on introducing the nature of lipopolysaccharides, their importance in research studies and scientific and medical applications, as well as providing a detailed explanation of the methods used to extract LPS from pathogenic bacteria and its uses in diagnostic and research fields.

The seminar was held in the College’s Pathology Laboratory and was attended by a number of faculty members, technical staff, and researchers, who enriched the session through scientific contributions and constructive discussions.

This seminar is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the College of Veterinary Medicine to enhance the research dimension and develop the scientific capacities of its staff and students.
